Brake Performance Testing for OE and Aftermarket Applications in the US and Europe

Click on link > http://www.linktestlab.com/Brochure PDFs/Link Technical Report FEV2005-01.pdf

This technical publication covers the main brake performance testing currently used by the industry in the US and Europe. The Technical Report covers in-vehicle and inertia-dynamometer testing publicy available and endorsed by the industry, ISO, SAE and the ECE. The technical report does not cover proprietary procedures. It is worth mentioning the growing trend for single-ended inertia-dynamometer testing. With the appropriate modeling, brake performance is predicted without the influence of a reference material on the other axle in a more controlled environment. ECE type-approval, BMC-BEEP® Voluntary Certication and the RP-628 Qualification, all rely on single-ended inertia-dynamometer testing. The same applies to all major inertia-dynamometer simulations for ECE R13, FMVSS 105, FMVSS 121 and FMVSS 135 used by most carmakers.  The technical report covers passenger cars and commercial vehicle testing. In addition it provides a summary of current efforts and future trends to enhance test protocols and harmonize efforts among the Americas, Europe, and Japan regarding brake system testing.
