Specific gravity 2.0, Moh hardness 2.5  Imparts hardness.  Can be used in formulas containing steel wool and iron particles to inhibit rusting.  Sometimes used as a scavenger to absorb gases during curing and reduce de-laminations.  Improves thermal stability of pf resins - delays fade until higher temperatures.  A useful additive to reduce swell and growth.
