Announces the Installation of two additional NVH Brake Dynamometers at
its North America Laboratory Test Operations in Detroit
Link Engineering Co.
announced the installation of two additional model 3900 NVH Brake
Dynamometers at its facility in Detroit, MI. The Link 3900 NVH
dynamometer is specifically designed for brake noise testing. The brake
test chamber is separate from the dynamometer drive, and support
systems, to isolate outside noise and vibration sources and provide
testing capabilities for testing corner or axle-type brake fixtures. The
double-wall enclosure assists in low-frequency noise testing and
environmental testing, allowing for precise control of temperature and
humidity, including below freezing-point testing so critical for NVH
investigations. The dynamometer control system features the e-Console
concept that integrates the electronics and electrical systems directly
on the machine frame with a simple Ethernet connection to the control
desk. This technology, besides minimizing wiring between the main
dynamometer and console, minimizes signal noise, provides increased
flexibility to accommodate different room layouts, and reduces
installation time at the customer site.
The NVH module is based on
the Bruel & Kjaer System. The Bruel & Kjaer PULSE™ software runs under
the ProLink™ software for ease-of-use while providing a full set of
noise and vibration analysis capabilities.
With this most recent
installation, Link operates 20 NVH dynamometers, along with over 30
performance dynamometers, offering testing services to meet customer
needs around the world. This includes testing facilities in Germany and
Korea.
