Announces Consolidation of Business Units
Federal-Mogul is consolidating five
operating business units into four to enable further operational and
support staff productivity, and balance the company’s support staffs to
meet current revenue expectations.
This move also will better align Federal-Mogul business unit product
groupings with its customers and markets, and should allow for better
coordination of product engineering and manufacturing across the product
groups. The product lines in the Automotive Products group will be
integrated into the company’s other business units.
Federal-Mogul will report in 2009 company
operating results of four business segments: Powertrain Energy,
Powertrain Sealing and Bearings, Vehicle Safety & Protection, and Global
Aftermarket.
The Powertrain Energy (PTE) segment will
consist of pistons, rings, pins, liners, valve train and ignition
components. Senior Vice President Rainer Jueckstock will have
responsibility for PTE.
Powertrain Sealing and Bearings (PTSB)
will consist of seals, gaskets, bearings, bushings, heat shields and
transmission components. Senior Vice President Gerard Chochoy will have
responsibility for PTSB. Eric McAlexander will become vice
president of global operations for PTSB, reporting to Gerard Chochoy.
The Vehicle Safety and Protection (VSP)
segment will consist of all brake activities, chassis products,
lighting, wipers and systems protection technologies. Senior Vice
President Ramzi Hermiz will have responsibility for VSP.
Global Aftermarket (GA) will continue to
offer the full range portfolio of leading aftermarket products for
global automotive, commercial vehicle and industrial replacement
markets. Senior Vice President Jay Burkhart will have responsibility
for GA. Senior Vice President René Dalleur will take global
responsibility for customer satisfaction, engineering and
manufacturing.
The business segment consolidation,
affecting our global operations, will begin immediately.
