Building on Monroe Brakes Success with Additional Coverage Expansion
Company Adding
Dozens of Late-Model SKUs to Popular Offering Of Original
Equipment-Style Replacement Brake Pads and Shoes
The continued success of the Monroe
brakes product line from Tenneco Inc. has powered yet another expansion
of product coverage to build upon the brand’s strong availability for
domestic and foreign nameplate applications. Tenneco will add dozens of
strategically targeted SKUs to the Monroe brakes offering for 2008,
continuing an aggressive expansion that has helped drive sales at the
distributor, jobber and service dealer levels.
“In addition to OE-inspired product
technologies that help eliminate comebacks at the shop level, Monroe
brakes offer distributors and jobbers an efficient range of SKUs
designed to help them capture more sales and establish stronger customer
relationships,” said Monroe Brakes Product Manager Tony Carter. “A key
part of our value to our trade partners is that we offer more of the
parts they need to grow their businesses.”
The total Monroe brakes program will grow
to 1,250 SKUs next year, with total U.S. passenger vehicle coverage of
approximately 80 percent. The brand is particularly strong among
vehicles five years old and newer, with its 89-percent coverage in this
segment offering an advantage over some other aftermarket brake
manufacturers.
The Monroe brake product line includes
Monroe Dynamics semi-metallic and Monroe Ceramics ceramic-formula brake
pads as well as a comprehensive offering of brake shoes. Monroe pads and
shoes feature original equipment-style friction formulations and designs
to help ensure exceptional stopping performance, quiet operation and
long life. In addition, Monroe friction products are packaged “complete”
with all required noise-elimination clips, hardware, moly-based
lubricant, and OE-style wire wear sensors (most applications) to help
technicians perform fast, efficient brake repairs.
“Offering the complete solution in one
box has been a key differentiator, particularly among shop
professionals,” Carter said. “It helps save the technician time, and
it’s also a signal to the shop and technician that they are installing
high-quality parts. Our research has shown that technicians are very
impressed when they open a Monroe brakes box.”
