CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA,
September 24, 2007… Carlisle Companies Incorporated (NYSE:CSL) announced
today that it will close the Motion Control Industries on-highway
braking facility located in Fredericksburg, Virginia, effective

be consolidated into Motion Control’s South Hill, Virginia facility. The
Altec remanufacturing plants in Pittsburg, Kansas and Brantford,

profitability in this underperforming business. Carlisle will record a
pre-tax charge of $6.4 million in its Specialty Products segment for
certain restructuring costs and asset impairment related to its
on-highway braking business.
Also in the third quarter
2007 Carlisle will record a pre-tax gain of approximately $50 million
for the sale of Icopal, the Company’s European roofing joint venture
that had been part of Carlisle’s Construction Materials segment.
