28th August 2007 - Brembo to Supply O.E. for Harley-Davidson Touring Platform

 ▪ The new supply equips about 35% of Harley-Davidson output (2006 data)
 ▪ Supply agreement worth between 30 and 40 million euros yearly.

Brembo has joined Harley-Davidson to supply braking systems for Harley-Davidson’s Touring Platform. Brembo has been supplying braking systems for the VRSC platform over the past 3 years and has now added the Touring platform which accounts for some 35% of the entire H-D output.

With this new agreement, Brembo becomes the braking systems OEM supplier for over 40% of Harley-Davidson motorbikes, around 350,000 per year (2006 Harley-Davidson brand data).

Brembo will supply:

 ▪ front and rear brake callipers;
 ▪ front and rear master cylinders;
 ▪ front and rear brake discs for FL models

Paolo Magri, Director of Brembo’s Moto Business Unit, comments on this important development:

“This achievement is a credit to the entire Brembo team, given their efforts over the past two years to meet the customer’s requirements. And it is even more of a success, when considering how significantly the volume of motorcycle braking systems made by Brembo will be increased by the new deal.”

Brembo is headquartered in Italy and is a recognized world leader and design innovator of vehicle disc brake technology. It supplies high performance brake systems to the most exciting brands of passenger car and motorcycle worldwide. Brembo has also proven leadership in motor-sports with its products winning more than 200 world championships to date.

Brembo operates in 12 Countries, with 23 plants and sales offices, employing more than 4700 people, 9% of which are engineers and product specialists working in research and development. The Company invests 5,2% of the sales in this area. The 2006 closing balance has recorded an increase again, reaching a turnover of €806 million (consolidated results).

The turnover of the motorcycle unit, in 2006, was of €90,3 million (11% of the total, an increase of 5,8% on 2005). Brembo supplies the most important motorbike, snowmobile and All Terrain Vehicle manufacturers in the world including Harley Davidson, BMW, Ducati, KTM, Piaggio, MV Agusta, Husqvarna, Moto Guzzi, Buell, Triumph, Yamaha, Aprilia, Benelli, Bombardier, Polaris, Vectris and nearly all teams that race in MotoGP.
