15th March 2007 - Bendix® Launches CQ™ Ceramic Brake Pads As Part Of Product Realignment Strategy Brand Eliminates Part Duplication, Simplifies Offerings for Customers With numerous applications and SKUs, stocking the right friction material can be difficult for distributors, retailers and technicians. To help simplify the process, the Bendix brand is changing its product lineup for 2007 by eliminating part duplication and offering a competitively-priced non-asbestos organic (NAO) ceramic formulation to round out its good, better and best product offerings. Bendix® CQ™ brake pads, which utilize the brand's NAO ceramic technology, are designed to meet original equipment vehicle specifications. Delivering performance and value for a wide range of domestic and import applications, the product line is comprised of the Bendix brand's existing non-asbestos disc pads and its NAO Import Quiet offerings. Ceramic materials are continuing to grow in popularity on both new vehicles and in the aftermarket. NAO ceramic fibers have been used in Bendix® products in varying capacities for years. "Introducing Bendix® CQ™ brake pads allows us to better communicate our formula composition and position it against comparable NAO ceramics in the marketplace," said Tom Tecklenburg, brand leader for Honeywell Consumer Products Group's Bendix brand, who added that the company will provide additional applications in the coming months for vehicles that feature NAO ceramic as original equipment or where an upgrade to NAO ceramic is recommended. "Merging our non-asbestos organic offerings into our new Bendix® CQ™ product portfolio will help eliminate confusion and part duplication for our customers. Now, if a retailer or wholesaler needs to stock a Bendix-branded NAO ceramic product, they'll know that we have an OE replacement," said Tecklenburg. Customers can now choose from a full line of good, better and best NAO ceramic or semi-metallic product offerings from Bendix Brakes: Non-Asbestos Organic Ceramic
Semi-Metallic Formulas
"After many discussions with our customers, we think our new friction family of products will better serve the needs of the marketplace," said Tecklenburg. "We now have an all-star product line up that offers complete semi-metallic and NAO ceramic market coverage with minimal part duplication."
