4th December 2006 - Christopher Griffen, Ph.D., Promoted to Director of Technology  at Wolverine Advanced Materials 

Wolverine Advanced Materials LLC, a leading global supplier of rubber-coated steel composites for vibration damping & sealing solutions, today announced the promotion of Dr. Christopher Griffen, Ph.D., to director of technology, from director of NVH (noise vibration and harshness) application  development.

"Technology has been, and will continue to be, the foundation of our company.  Our success in product and process development, along with customer support, will remain key elements of our business approach.  The new leader of the technology team, Dr. Griffen, has exemplified these priorities for our business,” said Scott Koepke, president of Wolverine Advanced Materials.

Dr. Griffen brings 30 years of expertise in structural dynamics and acoustic engineering background.  Prior to joining Wolverine, Dr. Griffen was senior director of global product development with Collins & Aikman Corporation.  He previously worked in next generation automotive NVH technology with Ford Motor Company, as well as power train product development at General Motors Corporation.

Dr. Griffen earned a B.S.M.E. from the University of Michigan; M.S.M.E. from Wayne State University, Detroit; Ph.D. GM Sloan Fellowship at the University of Michigan; and a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Oakland University, Rochester, Mich.  He has served as an adjunct engineering professor in Applied Mechanics/Dynamics at Oakland University as well as Eli Broad Financial Business Management certification at Michigan State University.
