6th July 2006 - World Cup Winners Score TV’s from TMD Friction Getting into the World Cup spirit has been easier for the fifty prize-winners of TMD Friction UK’s ‘Road to Glory’ competition. Launched in May by TMD Friction UK Ltd – the name behind the Mintex, Don, Pagid and Textar braking brands - the competition offered customers the opportunity to win one of fifty Casio handheld TV’s – to make sure they wouldn’t miss a single goal during June and July’s Fifa World Cup finals. Over 5,000 competition entry cards were distributed, accompanied by a TMD Friction ‘Road to Glory’ World Cup wall chart and match planner – an essential item for any dedicated football follower. Fifty of the correct entries were drawn at random in early June, ensuring that the TV’s arrived with the lucky winners in time for the opening matches of the tournament. One of the winners, Simon Bentley, from Priorslee Motor Spares, shared his prize with his work colleagues and said "We are making good use of it during the world cup, enabling us all to follow our favourite teams’’. Wendy Hollidale, of Autosuppliers (Chesterfield) Ltd, was also amongst the fifty prize-winners; "It has come in really handy! My husband and I have lots of work to do in the garden this summer, but winning the portable T.V. means that we don’t miss a single match".
