30th June 2006 - LINK ENGINEERING COMPANY Announces Joint Test Laboratory with SE Systems in Korea

Link Engineering has announced their Brake Testing Laboratory is open for business in Korea. This laboratory is a joint venture with SE Systems, a sales representative for Link in Korea for over 20 years. This laboratory will provide brake testing services to customers throughout Asia. It is located in the Seoul metropolitan area providing easy access for customers in the region.

The initial test equipment installed includes a Model 3000 dynamometer, a Chase Machine, and Model 3801vehicle systems. This lab will have a full set of capabilities for brake and friction material characterization and performance testing. In addition, there will be the ability to perform vehicle testing on the road and test tracks. The combined experience and expertise of SE Systems and Link Engineering means that high quality, rapid, and precise testing services are available to our Asian customers.

This facility is unique in the region being the first such independent laboratory established to provide brake testing services. It has generated a lot of interest from customers with a well attended opening ceremony. As Young Shin, the President of SE Systems, noted, “When we announced the concept of this laboratory, we got an immediate positive response from our customers. They have continued to support our efforts and are encouraging us to add additional capabilities as quickly as possible.”

In describing this new endeavor, Tim Duncan, Link’s Vice President for Testing Services, stated “This new test capability comes at the perfect time. The amount of testing we are doing for Asian customers is rising rapidly and this new facility will allow us to be more effective in supporting this customer base. This is a critical aspect of our goal of providing the fastest and most accurate brake testing services to all of our customers around the world."

The staff in the Link Korea facility has worked closely with Link Testing Laboratory personnel to assure their world class knowledge of brake testing, data analysis, and reporting. A important part of this implementation is careful monitoring and support to maintain data quality and accuracy at all Link test locations.
