27th June 2006 - TMD Friction to Drive Ahead with New Look for Mintex

TMD Friction has unveiled a striking new look for its aftermarket brand Mintex.

Cleckheaton/UK, 30 May 2006. With a history that stretches back almost a century, Mintex has become virtually a household name within the automotive aftermarket, synonymous with quality brake friction. In fact, Mintex friction linings were chosen by Henry Ford for the Model T, making Mintex one of the very first suppliers of original equipment parts to the automotive industry.

But whereas many brands with such a pedigree would be clinging to the past, since becoming part of the TMD Friction Group, the Mintex brand simply hasn’t stood still – both in terms of its technology as well as its image. This commitment to progress has resulted in what’s widely regarded as some of the best marketing in the business, to complement some of the very best aftermarket friction products currently available.

Mintex was given a major makeover in 2003, with a new logo and graphics that have since adorned everything from packaging to posters. Now, the Mintex image is once again being given a fresh look in a move to further strengthen the brand.

This ‘new broom’ approach coincides with a complete overhaul of the friction range and a massive investment by TMD Friction to give Mintex brake pads levels of quality and finish that are as yet unsurpassed in the aftermarket, putting Mintex within touching-distance of original equipment quality.

The latest packaging, with its striking curves of red and black to echo the arcs of the logo, incorporates changes that are functional as well as visual. The box has been completely re-engineered to have a more rigid construction and the lid now incorporates a push-lock tab as its seal.

Over coming months the new Mintex image will be rolled-out across its entire product range, appearing on packaging, advertising and support literature.
