19th June 2006 - Palmer International Exits Brake Shim Business

Palmer International (Skippack, PA) will be exiting the brake shim business by year-end, leaving a fully functional, versatile laminating line.

“We will be focusing our resources on our core strengths that have the best upside market potential, namely cashew technologies. Our exiting the shim business does not imply a lesser focus on the friction industry, but rather a greater one,” says Kevin Palmer, Chief Executive Officer. Palmer had been designing and producing high temperature damping technologies for over fifteen (15) years.

Palmer’s laminating line is a small specialty line ideally suited for either a new entrant in shims or a pilot line for major players.

Palmer International is a privately-held, global company producing state of-the-art friction additives and resins derived from cashew nutshell liquid.  For more information please visit Palmer International on ifriction.com at Palmer International, or their website at: www.palmerint.com
