1st June 2006 - TMD Friction Opens New Central European Warehouse

The TMD Friction Group will, in future, concentrate all its aftermarket activities in Leverkusen. Therefore, on 1st June 2006, the manufacturer of brake friction products will open a new central European warehouse. It will handle the distribution of the entire Textar and Pagid product ranges, as well as the private-label product range. Apart from the Logistics Division, Aftermarket Administration, with the departments Sales and Marketing and Customer Service, will also have its headquarters in Leverkusen.

With this step, TMD Friction is following its goal to organize central activities for the after-market more efficiently and fulfill customers’ demands for modern logistics processes. On an area of 13,000 square meters, up to 20,000 saleable articles will be held in stock in a modern high-bay warehouse. The warehouse has been designed for up to 5,000 order items per day. This long-term expansion of capacity allows a further growth in aftermarket activities even after 2010. Therefore, among other things, it is planned, in the medium term, to also store the brands Mintex and Don in the warehouse.
