On 3 March 2006 TMD Friction announced it has launched new literature to support it’s Mintex aftermarket brand and communicate the benefits of their recent programme of investment to bring Mintex brake pads closer to Original Equipment standards.

The styling of the new brochure, with it’s silver cover and dramatic curves, hints at the new image that TMD Friction is developing for Mintex in 2006 and beyond – a look which is also due to be carried onto its famous red packaging.

But it’s what’s inside the new brochure that’s sure to be of great interest to Mintex distributors and their customers. Outlined is TMD Friction’s position as a major O.E. supplier, together with an impressive list of vehicle manufacturers currently using TMD Friction brake components. The brochure goes on to explain that this O.E. expertise has provided the platform for TMD Friction’s aftermarket success, as behind the scenes the friction giant has gradually brought Mintex product development and manufacturing alongside that of the original parts.

The most notable improvement that Mintex brake pads have undergone to bring them closer to O.E. standards has been the mass introduction of anti-vibration shims. The new brochure provides detailed explanations of the types of shim used and how each works to reduce unwanted vibration or noise, usually caused by the design of a vehicle’s braking system, associated components or poor fitting.
