16th March 2006 - Bendix Australia Offers New Fleettrans Brake Linings Offer Gives Australian Transport Operators a Low Priced Quality Alternative. In a major new commercial vehicles product release, Bendix takes on cheap, unknown imported brake linings with a low priced quality product that dramatically increases durability and performance at this price point. Fleettrans, an all-new brake lining for light and heavy truck and trailer applications, is now available in most popular references including Japanese, American and European vehicles. The product will be available as a lining set with rivets and will also be supplied suitable for riveted lined shoes, bonded shoes and Keylok fitment, offering even more economy and flexibility. It is competitively priced, but has been formulated to offer extended durability making it one of the economical linings in the lower price bracket. Fleettrans effectively replaces Econotrans and Metrotrans in the Bendix range and will stand alongside the premium Bendix Protrans. “The introduction of Fleettrans means we now have an improved product offering, with a simplified range of two products – a premium and a price competitive product,” said Ian Lawrie, National Account Manager, Commercial Vehicles at Bendix. He added that the new product was ideal for large fleets or single operators giving them the opportunity to buy a low cost product backed by Bendix. EXTENSIVE TESTING Fleettrans was developed here in Australia and extensively tested on the road and at the company’s dynamometer facility at its Ballarat headquarters. With an FF and EE friction rating, it is suitable for use on S-CAM air brakes on trucks and trailers. It offers low noise, longer lining and drum life and consistent stopping power across a wide range of operating conditions. “Now fleet operators and transport companies of all sizes have a genuine lower priced alternative offering trusted Bendix durability and performance,” Mr Lawrie said. He said Fleettrans was specially developed to offer positive stopping power and extended wear characteristics under a wide temperature range. “It’s competitive on price and on value in terms of cost per kilometre. “Why risk your business with unknown low cost alternatives when you can fit genuine Bendix brake linings,” he concluded.
