3rd January 2006 - Federal-Mogul Names Mike Sobieski Vice President, Manufacturing, Global Friction René Dalleur, senior vice president, Vehicle Safety and Performance, announced on the 21st of December 2005 the appointment of Mike Sobieski to the position of vice president, manufacturing, global friction, effective January 1, 2006. "Mike's myriad experiences within Federal-Mogul's friction group make him the natural choice to lead the global friction manufacturing operations," Dalleur said. "His manufacturing expertise will serve the friction group well as it strives to improve its global organization, including expansion of our operations in Asia." Sobieski, who joined Federal-Mogul in 1998, most recently served as vice president, global ignition and wiper products, Aftermarket Products and Services. Previously, he served in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility within the friction group, including director of European and South African friction operations, based in Bad Camberg, Germany; plant manager at Logansport, Indiana, and Smithville, Tennessee; and engineering and production manager, friction. Previous to joining Federal-Mogul, he worked as an operations manager for Siemens Automotive and Ford Motor Company.
