3rd January 2006 - Federal-Mogul Names Eric McAlexander Senior Vice President, Global Manufacturing Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer José Maria Alapont announced on the 21st of December 2005 the appointment of Eric McAlexander to the position of senior vice president, global manufacturing, and a member of the Strategy Board for Federal-Mogul Corporation. "Eric’s extensive knowledge of the business, combined with his proven manufacturing expertise and leadership skills, will play a key role in supporting our goal of increasing efficiencies and improving productivity at our operations worldwide," Alapont said. "He will be responsible for implementing lean initiatives throughout our manufacturing facilities, which will be instrumental in Federal-Mogul’s drive for global profitable growth." McAlexander, who joined Federal-Mogul in 1993, served as vice president, manufacturing, global friction, since 1998. Previously, he worked in a variety of positions with increasing responsibility. He served as plant manager, Wagner Brakes, in St. Louis, Missouri, from January 1997 to March 1998; and then as plant manager, Scottsville, Kentucky, from December 1993 to January 1997. Prior to joining Federal-Mogul, McAlexander was operations manager for EIS Brake Parts. McAlexander received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lambuth College in Jackson, Tennessee.
