24th August 2005 - Affinia Under Vehicle Group Appoints Richard Levin to V.P. of Operations

Affinia Under Vehicle Group has announce the appointment of Richard C. Levin to the position of Vice President of Operations, effective August 22, 2005.  Rick will be based in the Affinia Under Vehicle Group Headquarters in McHenry, Illinois.

A specialist in lean manufacturing techniques, Rick will be responsible for all operational functions for the Under Vehicle Group’s manufacturing, purchasing, R&D and distribution facilities within our global footprint.

Rick comes to Affinia from RBC Precision Products, where he served as General Manager, with full profit & Loss responsibility.  Prior to RBC, Rick worked with Blue Bird Bus in Fort Valley, Georgia, as Vice President School Bus Operations and led efforts to modernize and improve manufacturing operations for the $500 million company with 3000 employees.

In his career, Rick has also served as Vice President of Manufacturing Operations, Director of Manufacturing and Plant Manager for Federal Mogul, as well as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Alumitech and Plant Manager of Outboard Marine Corporation.

A graduate of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, Rick gained tremendous experience in the manufacturing environment, including international plant experience.  He has specialist experience in lean manufacturing techniques, including the Toyota Production System and Six-Sigma.
