Press Releases Wanted

4th August 2005 - TRW Automotive Supplies Safety for the All-New 2006 Dodge Charger

TRW Supplying Brake System Components Including an Optional "Girvac" Style Brake Actuation System

TRW Automotive Holdings Corp., through various subsidiaries, is supplying the new Dodge Charger models with advanced active and passive safety systems including braking, steering and smart airbag systems.

Passive safety systems being provided by TRW include an advanced occupant classification system for the front passenger seating position that tailors the deployment of the airbag to the weight of the occupant or will turn off the airbag in the case of an infant or small child.

TRW is also supplying available side curtain airbags, using the Company's unique cold gas inflator technology, which offers enhanced side impact protection for all outboard passengers.

Optional active safety components on some Dodge Charger models include a TRW power steering system that features "9-land" valve damping technology that significantly reduces system vibration and noise and contributes to a stable steering feel. TRW is also supplying brake system components including an optional "Girvac" style brake actuation system on some models, which set the standard for brake booster design in Europe, as well as aluminum brake control valves. Rounding out the TRW content on these vehicles are suspension control arms and a range of interior switches, sensors and HVAC controls.

"TRW is pleased to complement the world-class power and performance of the all-new 2006 Dodge Charger with innovative safety systems that add value for drivers and passengers," said Peter J. Lake, executive vice president, Sales and Business Development for TRW Automotive.
