28th March 2005 -  Affinia Under-Vehicle Group (Brake Parts) to Close Montreal Plant

On Thursday the 24th of March 2005 The Montreal Times (Canadian Press) reported that Affinia Under-Vehicle Group (Brake Parts) will close it Montreal manufacturing plant affecting 370 jobs.

Brake Parts manufactured brake pad backing plates and disc pads at the Montreal facility.

It was reported a representative of Affinia Group said they found themselves with more manufacturing locations than they could support and the closing of the Montreal plant was to reduce operational costs.

Brake Parts has five other North American locations, including one in Ontario.
