9th February 2005 - Bendix C.V. Systems Contributes $2.6 Million to Tsunami Relief Efforts Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC and the Knorr-Bremse Group, its European parent organization, combined will donate over $2.6 million for projects to aid in the massive tsunami relief efforts in South Asia. Bendix is matching employee contributions to the American Red Cross International Response Fund dollar-for-dollar across its North American operations through February 1, 2005, as well as making a corporate donation. Knorr-Bremse, which operates facilities in India and South Asia, but not in the affected area, is contributing financial assistance through the newly established Knorr-Bremse Global Care organization, a nonprofit foundation to help people in need worldwide. “The Bendix and Knorr-Bremse families extend their deepest sympathies to the thousands of individuals affected by this devastating event,” said Joe McAleese, Bendix president and CEO. “We’re proud of the very generous response from our parent, Knorr-Bremse, as well as the enthusiastic and compassionate response of our employees here in North America who have rallied to help in this cause.
