21st January 2005 - Fimpex Argentina Achieves R90 Certification Fimpex, Argentine’s top quality passenger brake pad car manufacturer has achieved R90 certified status last January. After a long process, and a lot of work done, INTI (Industrial Technology National Institute) of Argentina, certified that Fimpex products comply with ONU’s Regulation 90, becoming the first Argentine friction material producer to achieve this status. This certification enables Fimpex to expand operations to countries were the Regulation 90 is the only one accepted by local countries authorities, giving Fimpex a new export profile, and allowing Fimpex to increase its continuing growth. This was taken as another step in the efforts of this company to become a major South American brake pad producer, and it seems it is giving results, as mentioned by its managing director, “...in the certification process, our pads showed better performance compared to the original ones, in most cases...”.
